Retail marketers operate in one of the most competitive advertising environments. Promotions are constant, consumer attention is fragmented, and every media dollar is expected to drive measurable business outcomes.
Audience targeting answers who. Premium placements answer where. Neither answers the question that determines whether an impression actually works: when is a consumer most likely to engage?
For Metro, Glassroom set out to answer it — targeting moments of high consumer receptivity to drive conversion efficiency across a network of premium local publishers.
Glassroom activated two parallel PMPs across the same portfolio of local media partners: one prioritizing impressions using Receptiv's AI-powered receptivity signals, one without. Identical publishers, budgets, flight dates, and creative — isolating receptivity as the single variable.
By prioritizing high-receptivity moments, the campaign delivered the same volume of Conversions while requiring 27% fewer impressions. The result: measurably more efficient use of media investment and a significant reduction in wasted exposure.
In retail, efficiency matters as much as scale. When fewer impressions are needed to drive the same results, marketers can scale performance by reinvesting savings into incremental reach. Rather than optimizing solely who sees an ad and where, Receptiv introduces a third dimension: when consumers are most receptive to brand messaging — directly answering the question this campaign set out to explore.
By integrating Receptiv’s media buying approach, Metro proved that retail success isn't about bigger budgets—it's about capitalizing on smarter, more impactful moments.
Our role isn’t to replace great media planning, it’s to enhance it. Working alongside Glassroom, we helped Metro unlock greater efficiency while maintaining campaign scale.Olivier Poissant
